Healing times vary by piercing. Ears typically take four to eight weeks, facial piercings six to twelve weeks, and body piercings anywhere from two to six months. We’ll give you the real timeline for your specific piercing.

We use autoclave sterilization for all equipment and single-use needles for every piercing. Clamps are reused between appointments, but only after they’ve been after they’ve been sterilized on the autoclave. Everything gets cleaned to medical standards.

Changing jewelry too soon risks infection and complications. We recommend waiting until the piercing is fully healed. If you need to change it, come see us and we’ll do it right.

Saline solution, twice daily, no touching, no twisting. We give detailed instructions with every piercing and we’re here if questions come up during healing.

Everyone is welcome at Prickly Pear, however there are age requirements. Under 16 years of age requires parental consent for all piercings. For genital piercings the requirement is 18 years of age. Photo I.D. is required for every piercing. No Exceptions. Under 16 years old must bring a Parent/Legal Guardian. We only pierce ear lobe and cartilage for children under 14 years of age.

Complications are rare when you follow aftercare instructions, but we’re here if they happen. Contact us immediately and we’ll help you sort it out.

If a piercing isn’t sitting right or needs adjustment, we’ll take another look. Sometimes it’s a simple fix, sometimes it needs a fresh start. Either way, we are happy to help free of charge.
